The membership is opened to anyone who have bought a computer from us.
All you need to do is to tell us you would like to be our Point+ member.

This is not a good marketing strategy, what is the 1% for? You buy a Mac Air for RM6000+ and you can come back the next day with parking and petrol fee of RM30 so that you can redemn RM60 ? NO? Oh we can accumulate point ? so I can buy another Mac Book for you sister next week and another Mac Book for my mum next month next month, My dad need a iMac also. …Yehh!….Now I have 200+ points after spending RM20,000!
You are not selling McD burgers, you dun expect your customer to come often to buy computer & ass-a-sorry every now and then do u? I dun see any privilege by becoming point+ or no +.
CG has been living in the box for too long, It is time for you to come up with more goodies for your customers.

one of the T&C listed :
6) The “Point+” membership may also be purchased by existing “Point” customers. An applicable application fee of
RM500.00 will be charged. The company reserves the rights to revise or review the fees for “Point+” membership as it sees
fit. The company also reserves the rights to decline “Point+” membership to any customers at is own discretion.
i wonder if the “By Invitation” Point+ membership is FREE ? or has to pay the amount of RM500.00 as listed in the Clause 6 ?
What is the difference between Point and Point+ ?
Email for application…. how ? There isn’t any CLEAR instruction on that…
pls provide MORE information on the application too…. Thanks
May 11th, 2008 at 2:50 am

3 Questions:
Applicable for clearance stock too?
Would the offer be extended beyond 2008 - meaning can I purchase a computer in 2009 still be a member?
How long would this point program last - in the event when I come up with the min 50 points aka after buying 50 items from CG say in a span of 5 - 10 years or maybe even more, would this offer still exist?
PS: If your answer is yes to all these questions then indeed I have nothing to lose by succumbing to the point program.

Applicable for all computers purchased from us.
We planned to continue the Point+ membership for as long as we could. Nobody can know what will happen in the year 2009.
If you get a computer from us, it is quite certain you will have more than 50 points. The point expires in 1 year.
May 12th, 2008 at 1:11 pm
One thing to ask, if the point only can be redeemed when you accumulated up to 50 points which mean you need to spend at least RM5,000 in a year to avoid your existing point expired, am I right?
For normal customer, we might buy a Mac in the first year but not every year, look like it is not easy to enjoy the 1% .. please clarify ..
May 12th, 2008 at 1:17 pm
After the first 50 points, you may redeem on 10 points basis.
May 13th, 2008 at 2:43 pm
Now this is healthy discussion. You guys seems to “catch the ball” liao. GOOD.
May 14th, 2008 at 3:27 pm
I kinda see where kiddingme is coming from. I’d suppose the 1% might benefit companies that purchase a bulk of Macs at a go but as for the regular “1 Mac in a home” customer, 1% doesn’t really get them much. Buying a RM5000 Mac and getting RM50 for future purchases (in a year?) ain’t really saying much, seeing how “price unfriendly” Apple products are. It’d probably be more appealing if it’s 5% or such. It’s a good marketing strategy but it’s not there yet.

There should be more than just monetary benefit from Switch. Will there special classes or special invitation for members only events?
May 14th, 2008 at 7:00 pm
But then again, think about how many times you gonna swipe your credit card to accumulate sufficient points just to redeem a bath towel?
Personally I find this as a bonus. Since I’m getting a MacBook soon, and now I can get some money equivalent points, why not? If buy RM5000 and getting 5% (which is RM250…right?), I don’t think any company can do that all year round… (although I wouldn’t mind having it at all, hehehe.)

It is great to see the Point+ is being debated.
1 question.
Will you lose anything to become a member?
We are giving away points on top of our promotions. (ie. PC Fair Promo).
It is not like we are taking away the discount and turn them into your points.
We are giving. And we are giving to the willing parties. Like I said previously, it is your choice to refuse the membership.
But when we have a close door sales of 50% off for Point+ members only, please do not blame us for not inviting you.
Cheers!
May 15th, 2008 at 4:56 am
Conclusion from a buyers point of view:
Who would refuse the point membership? I know I wouldn’t but…having a one year expiry is not very appealing as it doesn’t give your dear customers a chance to accumulate the points for better use in the future. They would be constantly trapped in this worry to make use of their points which subsequently adds more points in the process. It is a simple fact that they would be continually spending more money then getting their points worth. Personally, a discount on all products would be more attractive.

I agree with v5point0!
May 17th, 2008 at 11:20 pm
“It is great to see the Point+ is being debated.” ???????
Why dun you post my earlier comment ? No free media after all huh?
So CG is just like any other profit concern company after all huh? I am not surprise, just stop pretending you are so different , OK?
I have been using Mac before your boss started CG Computers !

Just got my Point+ card today. But the http://cgcomputers.com/point website is not up yet.
May 19th, 2008 at 10:43 am
CG can promote whatever they want. It is part of doing business. It is up to us the intelligent consumer to figure out whether we want to join or not. Everyone has the right to voice their opinion and no one is or can be wrong.
CG as we know is running a business and which business want to lose money? Get it?
I am not denying that the Point or Point + will bring SOME free goodies for the consumer. But also at the end of the day we know who will benefit more from this deal. We all have brain but we all think differently. That what makes us all different and unique!
Have a good day everyone!

well… never try never knows !
Some may agreed and disagreed on such marketing strategy. Just like other retails industries markets… like TESCO, JUSCO, THE STORE and etc…. they all have their own membership cards up to certain level in order to capture their customers to retain to shop with them. I think this goes same to CG Computers…
Nevertheless, obtaining the Point or Point+ membership gives u lose nothing, instead you may gain some ‘extra’ from them, although it may not be luxury, yet it is better than nothing, rite ?
It can be a good starting to others, may not as well. That is how to get ’survive’ and ’stronger’ in the business markets…
It is a free world for you to choose or not. So, just make your BEST + WISE decisions.
May 25th, 2008 at 3:30 pm
Points earned can retain only 1-year, i think it is too short… as many of the membership cards available in the markets nowadays, at least 3 years of expiry, some even make it life-time.
I think it would be wiser for SWITCH to revise its Points expiry date, rather than just 1-year as for most of the average income users, how often they will purchase any of the Apple products within 1 year time ? I believe that can be easily counted with our own 10-finger !
Hope SWITCH management will revise on this matter in order to benefits their customers.
